Internal plastering on walls consists of two coats
: one is base coat, which is applied thicker, than the finishing coat.
The finishing coat consists of a thin smooth coat of plaster.
On
the ceilings two thin coats of finishing plaster is normally applied.
In both this cases this is the norm. However in some cases a different
technique may be required due to the structure of the wall.
All plaster finishes can be decorated with paint, wallpaper or vynil
when the plaster has dried out completely as long as the plaster has
been treated with a paint sealer.
Plasterboard:
Plasterboard is used in the construction of partition walls and ceilings
or in the repair of badly cracked or damaged existing ceilings which
will give a good surface for finishing plaster.
Coving:
Coving can enhance any room from a bathroom to kitchen and to a sitting
room and seem to make the wall smoothly join the ceiling.
It
comes in several styles and sizes to suit most needs.
